Reunions are now the number one reason people visit the Lodge. With busy lives and everyday pressures, it appears a stay reuniting friends is more popular than ever.
School friends, now in the 60’s, charity trek groups and university chums have all booked this year to enjoy a walk, a giggle and some reminiscing over a glass of something chilled or a mug of tea.
It’s a treat for Penny too as many of these trek groups have walked with her in far flung corners of the world whilst raising money for the colourful and inspirational charity, Coppafeel, founded by the beautiful Kris Hallenga.

Just back from her latest adventure in the Montenegrin Mountains with 60 participants, Penny said it could not have been more spectacular. The ladies raised £200,000 for this breast cancer awareness charity, they trekked 100 kms in just 47 hours and climbed 3,750m. It was phenomenal. We cannot wait to see them back for their reunion when we will share cake, memories, hugs, laughter and a little glass of something!

This year the Lodge will see trek groups who met walking in Oman, Northumberland, Cornwall, the Himalayas, Mont Blanc, the Sahara and the Isle of Skye. We also have guests from St Edmunds School and Queen Mary’s University, London.
Each group chooses whether to hunker down, play games, organise a quiz, put old photos on the large screen in the snug bar or to head out into the hill, plunge into a river for a refreshing dip or to visit a castle, a tea room or an outdoor adventure activity. So much choice, it’s hard to decide but one thing is for certain, they won’t want to leave on Sunday when it’s gone too fast. It’s tempting to have next years date already pencilled in before leaving and at least it’s then only Adieu, until next time!
