Collett's Hosts Walking for Charity

Eastfield Lodge couple, Nick & Mel, take on the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge
in support of Macmillan Nurses

On 9th July, 2011, Nick and Mel from Eastfield Lodge, our Guest House in Wensleydale, will be taking part in the Macmillan Yorkshire 3 Peaks sponsored walk. The challenge is 25 miles - up Pen-y-Ghent, then Whernside, finishing with Ingleborough, climbing a total of 2,153 metres - see the map below for the route.

Both Nick & Mel are keen to support the work of Macmillan nurses and have developed a love of walking in the Yorkshire Dales, since moving to Leyburn to work for Collett’s in February.

The opportunity to raise money for an organisation which provides much needed care for cancer patients and their families, whilst tackling the three Yorkshire ‘biggies’ seemed too good to miss. Mel and Nick have been training hard, regularly hiking up Penhill, which dominates the view of the Wensleydale valley from Eastfield Lodge.
